Kick off your tour with a photo stop at the Hoover Dam before venturing into your first ghost town. The small community of Chloride, Arizona was a big silver mining town for decades before the mining boom crashed. Browse the antique shops and chat with some of the 250 locals who have stuck around and created a joyful artist’s community.
Cruise down Route 66 to Oatman, Arizona – population 150 people and 1 poltergeist named “Oatie.” Enjoy views of the surrounding Black Mountains and snap some shots of the tumbleweeds and free-range burros that roam the streets. Look out for modern-day cowboys and bandits – there may be an opportunity to join in your very own wild west shoot-out.
Swing by the local saloon before you make your way through the Mojave Desert to Eldorado Canyon, a historic gold mining town that’s been the backdrop for many movies and photoshoots. As you head back to Las Vegas embrace the wide openness of the beautiful desert landscape!
