Your 6-hour adventure will begin with a convenient pick up from your accommodation in Gardiner, Montana. After boarding a comfortable SUV or minivan, you’ll make your way into the hills of Yellowstone.
Once at the trailhead, it’s time to lace up your hiking boots! Follow your guide to one of the park’s hidden gems where you’ll discover a fascinating fossil forest. Marvel at the petrified wood’s smooth texture and look for cracks filled with sparkling crystals. Listen as your guide explains the process of petrification and learn how the Yellowstone volcano helped create these geologic wonders.
Along the way, keep your eyes open for wildlife! Yellowstone’s sage-covered hills are home to numerous animals including pronghorn, deer, bison, and even badgers. After a wonderful day of hiking, you’ll head back to Gardiner for a good night’s rest.

You can expect to have a great time with friendly people and knowledgeable local tour guides. The goal is to have an amazing time while hiking in the Yellowstone backcountry.
This is a private tour and will consist of you, your personal group of up to 5 individuals, and your guide.
Bring your adventurous spirit, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera. While snacks and drinks are included, this tour does not include full meals. You may wish to bring your own lunch or purchase one within the park.
Yellowstone's mountain climate can change rapidly. Bring clothes that are appropriate for a variety of weather conditions. We recommend wearing hiking boots and light layers that are easy to put on and take off. You may also want to bring along a rain jacket or poncho, hat, and gloves.

This 4-mile hike is considered moderate in difficulty. All participants should be in good physical health and able to hike in a high elevation, mountainous environment. Portions of this trail are uphill and can be strenuous.
