Your 90-minute tour will begin when you meet up with your professional guide outside the Ramsey County Courthouse. In 1906, this courthouse was the backdrop of one of the most brutal hangings in history. It took murderer William Williams over 14 minutes to succumb to strangulation, and legend has it, that his vengeful spirit still roams the basement.
Listen to even more spooky stories as you pass by the Minnesota State Capitol, St. Paul Cathedral, the Landmark Center, and so much more. You’ll feel goosebumps cover your body as your guide takes you to the hanging site of Ann Bilansky, the only woman in Minnesota history to receive the death penalty. Could the spirit of Ann still wander these gallows?
Your terrifyingly fun night will conclude outside of the St. Paul Hotel. During the 1920s, this historic hotel became the home base for notorious St. Paul gangster, Leon Gleckman. Learn how Leon made the city a sanctuary for criminals and became known as the Al Capone of St. Paul.
