Your tour begins when your guide picks you up in San Francisco at a prearranged location and takes you past some of the city’s most famous sights, like Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz before meandering through the rich agricultural Central Valley and California Gold Country on your way to the nation’s first ever protected national park.
As you enter the park, your guide will regale you with stories and fascinating historic facts about each sight you pass. Soak up the breathtaking views as you wind your way up to 6,200 feet above sea level. Stop for photos at “Tunnel View,” one of Yosemite’s most picturesque locations.
After your guided tour, you’ll have about 3 hours of free time to explore on your own. Your guide will point out the best spots on your map, then you’re free to grab a bike or stretch your legs on a nice long hike and go wherever the trail takes you. Look for climbers on El Capitan from the meadow, see iconic Half Dome, marvel at both Yosemite Falls & Bridalveil Fall, or use your camera to channel your inner Ansel Adams for that perfect nature shot.
After enjoying a fun-filled day in Yosemite, it’s time to meet back up with the group for a relaxing drive back to the city, arriving around 8:30 or 9:00 pm.
