Your unforgettable adventure begins with a convenient pick up from your Anchorage hotel or accommodation. A friendly and knowledgeable guide will welcome your private group aboard a comfortable vehicle before driving into the Alaskan wilderness.
Once at the trailhead, you’ll be provided with a sturdy pair of trekking poles. These nifty tools will help you keep your balance as you climb high above the tree line. Following your guide, you’ll begin your ascent to one of the park’s most stunning ridgelines. Since this is a private tour, there’s no need to rush. Climb at your own pace and feel free to stop for photos along the way!
While the climb up may be tiring, every step will be worth it once you’re at the top. You won’t believe your eyes at the surrounding vistas and unbelievable views! As you hike along the ridgeline, your guide will point out Downtown Anchorage, the Cook Inlet, and more. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of Mt. Denali! Learn about Alaska's tundra environment while keeping an eye out for wildlife. Some of the species frequently seen include moose, bear, Dall sheep, mountain goats, marmot, and a variety of birds.

What To Wear
How hard is the hike?
This hike is considered moderate to difficult. You should have a small amount of hiking experience before attempting this hike or be in good physical condition. At a minimum, you should be able to walk at least 6 miles on flat pavement, or 5 miles of uneven rolling terrain over the course of 4 hours. You should also be able to easily climb many flights of stairs over the duration of many hours. Many parts of trail are steep and hilly, placing additional stress on areas of the body not impacted by level terrain. You should also be able to balance well and feel comfortable walking in muddy and slippery conditions.
How long is the drive from Anchorage?
It takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes to drive from Anchorage to the trailhead.
